Media Specialist: Josh Puchlik

Josh PuchlikJosh works our soundboard every Sunday as well as prepares visual media for the services. He also helps with technical issues that occasionally occur in SHUMC computers or other technical equipment. As Josh says, “If it plugs into a wall and has buttons, I’m your guy!” Josh was born in Salt Lake City but has lived in St. George since he was four years old. Before moving to St. George, Josh and his family lived in Elko, Nevada and Katherine, Australia. The family was following Josh’s father, who is an exploration geologist, a person who is hired by mining corporations to assist in finding ore.

Josh studied acting at Tuacahn High School for four years before entering Dixie State University (DSU) where he will graduate this year with an A.A. and a B.S. in Business Administration. During his time at DSU, Josh was State President of Utah College DECA, an organization involved with training future business leaders in everything from design to international marketing by means of state, regional, and international competitions. After getting his degree, Josh plans to try entry-level jobs in business administration and marketing until he finds something he loves. He will then return to school to earn an advanced degree in that area. In the meantime, he loves solving problems for people, and “hanging out” with his parents who are, according to Josh, “the world’s best.” Josh believes that "it’s important for people of my generation to help others in an increasingly complex technological environment".
