Education classes on summer hiatus

The Wired Word Sunday morning class with Rich Hentosh and the Children’s Sunday class with Sue McLaughlin are on summer hiatus. They will resume at the end of summer or beginning of fall. Updates will be provided in August. The Sunday morning Lectionary class will continue through mid-July.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
What is Pinecliff Camp?

Pinecliff is the name of a campground owned and operated by our Conference, situated in the foothills of Uinta Mountains outside of Coalville, Utah. During the summer months, it offers weekly camping opportunities for youth. For several years, at the end of the summer, our mission team has volunteered to go up and make necessary repairs and prepare the camp for winter. The site of the camp was one of the original stops for the Pony Express so it has a historic significance as well.

This past week found one of our youth attending camp there and several others are considering going later in the summer. If you are interested in helping in some way, either financially or by becoming part of the work team, contact Gregg Freeman, chair of the Missions Ministry Team at screggly@gmail.com.

 New Storage Container

Thanks to one of our anonymous donors, we now own a storage container. The ERT Team will have use of the old shed. We are now able to reorganize and solve many of our  storage issues with our new container, which is 45 feet long by 8 feet wide by 9.6 feet high. The decals on the container have been scraped off thanks to Keith Christenson, Gregg Freeman, Lee Stevens and Kim Riley donating their time on Memorial Day. The next day, Gary Broomfield—with an airless sprayer—Bob Moffitt, Les Evers, Ed Adams, and Kim Riley painted the red container a less conspicuous beige.

As our program church grows, there will be more opportunities for our congregation to get involved. There is much to be done to maximize the use of the container for safe, clean storage including interior design, ventilation, doors, windows, lighting, a roof cover, and connection to our existing building, sky lights, electricity, and landscaping that will include a drip system for trees and plants. Donations of time and money are needed to finish the following:

Garage-roll-up door in the center of unit,  $600

Landscaping to the south, $300

Cost of painting, $150

Drip irrigation, $150

Blocks to hold gravel under container, $500

Shelving for interior, $275

Patio pavers for entrance,  $200
