There are many ways to become involved in the music ministry at Shepherd of the Hills.  Information on all of our musical groups is found below.  Additional questions may be addressed to Lily Alo.

Chancel Choir:  A mixed-voice choir that sings at the 11:00 a.m. Traditional Worship, this group also performs regularly in the community, most notably at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints St. George Tabernacle each Christmas and Easter.  The choir is directed by Lily Alo and rehearses Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the music room.  The choir invites singers of all abilities to come and share in the joy of raising their voices to the Lord!

Praise Band: The Praise Band leads the 9:00 a.m. Praise Worship.  Each Sunday there is a mix of contemporary praise songs as well as traditional hymns.  If you are interested in joining the praise band, please complete the attached form and return it to Lily Alo or the church office.

Wesley Bell Ringers: The handbell choir performs at traditional worship services as well as at community events. English hand bells and hand chimes are tuned percussion instruments. We anticipate having several open positions for ringers (players) for the Fall 2018 season. Familiarity with reading music is helpful but not required, and our experienced ringers can help you learn in a forgiving environment!

Our rehearsal/performance season runs from Labor day through Memorial Day. This includes one evening rehearsal per week for the full choir plus a “sectional” help session per week for anyone desiring additional practice time.

For more information on joining the bell choir, please call Anne at 435-673-6298 or leave a message with the church office at 435-627-8638.
